Luna's Meal Plan

So much more than just delicious!

Dear kids, parents, and staff at schools and kintergarten, a balanced diet is especially important for children and teens—and we at Luna take that very seriously! Food should provide energy, keep you healthy, and be enjoyable.

That's why we at Luna have developed a meal plan that is not only varied but also designed in accordance with nutritional standards.

Regional and seasonal ingredients – because at Luna, freshness matters

We use fresh ingredients and make sure that as many of them as possible are locally sourced and in season. After all, freshly prepared food simply tastes better and is especially nutritious!

More variety with our 12-week plan

Our planned Luna meal plan spans 12 weeks! That means even more variety on your plate and a colorful mix of dishes that offer new taste experiences time and time again.

Luna Fact Check: Why We Cook the Way We Do at Luna – Our Guidelines

Our Luna meal plan follows the guidelines of the German Nutrition Society (DGE). This means:

  • Meat only once a week, but 100% organic and no pork.
  • At least one vegetarian meal a day, though it may still contain eggs and dairy products.
  • Fish once a week, MSC-certified, ASC-verified, and rich in beneficial omega-3 fatty acids.
  • Grains or potatoes every day, including at least one serving of whole grains—all Fair Trade or from the EU.
  • Fresh vegetables every day, a quarter of which should be raw, and legumes at least once a week.
  • Fruit twice a week, for a sweet, natural treat.
  • Don't forget to include milk and dairy products twice a week.
  • Fresh drinking water every day—because staying hydrated is important!

Of course, we do occasionally serve fried, breaded, or sweet main dishes, but always in moderation. Our nutrition experts ensure that every dish is carefully selected.

Why not pizza and fries every day?

As much as we love pizza and fries , children need a balanced diet to grow and develop properly. Eating too much fast food over time can make them tired, make it hard for them to concentrate, and simply doesn’t provide enough of the essential nutrients children need to grow.

Our goal is to get kids excited about good food! We try out new recipes, draw inspiration from international cuisines, and bring variety to the table with creative dishes.
